Cassandra Briones, LMSW

You’ve spent so much of your life holding it all together, showing up for everyone else, staying strong, and pushing through. But lately, that strength feels heavy. You’re exhausted from constantly being in survival mode, even when things look “fine” on the outside. You might notice yourself feeling anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed by emotions you can’t quite name. I help women who have spent years taking care of everyone else finally learn to care for themselves, without guilt. You’re tired of overextending yourself, saying yes when you mean no, and losing pieces of who you are in the process.

My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in Polyvagal Theory, helping you understand your body’s responses to stress and build safety from within. From there, we may integrate CBT, CPT, or Narrative Exposure Therapy to process painful experiences, as well as Mindfulness, ACT, or DBT to support ongoing balance and growth.

As a first-generation Latina and trauma therapist, I understand what it’s like to carry expectations and navigate complex family dynamics while trying to find your own path. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to rewrite your story. Healing doesn’t mean erasing what happened, it means learning to trust yourself again.

Specialities:

  • Trauma recovery and nervous system regulation (Polyvagal-informed)

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, and chronic stress

  • Burnout, perfectionism, and people-pleasing in women

  • Relationships, family dynamics, and attachment patterns

  • Identity, self-esteem, and mind-body integration using EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness
