Hi, I’m Salena Khan, PMHNP-BC
Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or the demands of everyday life? Maybe you've been struggling with your mood, feeling emotionally exhausted, or finding it harder to focus, and keep up with your responsibilities. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation challenges, and difficulties with attention and focus. Whether you're considering medication for the first time, exploring changes to your current treatment, or simply looking for guidance on your mental health, I'm here to help you understand your options and feel confident in your treatment decisions.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe mental health care should be more than managing symptoms or prescribing medication. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences, asking questions, and exploring what may be contributing to how you're feeling. My goal is to understand who you are beyond your symptoms and help you find a path forward that aligns with your needs and goals.
My experience includes working in inpatient psychiatric settings, crisis intervention, and outpatient mental health care. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, individualized care that meets you where you are.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my cats, taking road trips, and discovering new coffee shops. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you in taking meaningful steps toward your mental health and wellness goals.
My Approach
My approach combines psychiatric medication management with supportive therapeutic interventions and a holistic understanding of mental health. I recognize that your emotional well-being is influenced by many factors, including sleep, nutrition, relationships, stress, daily routines, and life experiences. I take the time to understand these connections and how they may be affecting your mental health.
I believe treatment should feel like a collaborative conversation rather than simply reviewing symptoms. Together, we'll explore your concerns, discuss medication and non-medication options, and develop an individualized treatment plan that reflects your goals, preferences, and lifestyle. I incorporate evidence-based strategies informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based approaches to support emotional regulation, healthier coping, and meaningful, sustainable progress.
My goal is to help you feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in your care while building practical tools that support your long-term mental health and well-being.
